As the founder of nightlyfe and the Publisher of what many have come to know as the “Unofficial & Uncensored Guide to Winter Music Conference“, I wanted to take this time to thank those who helped make this possible, share with you our plans for Winter Music Conference 2011 and get your feedback.
First and foremast, a massive thank you goes to our dedicated editors & contributors who spent countless hours lending their talents and knowledge to produce great content. A special thank you goes to a few key supporters which include KarmaloopTV, LiveStream, Gina Turner and Ultra Music Festival.
I would also like to thank you, the 78,000+ people who trusted us as resource to plan their trip.
Our team has already begun putting plans in motion for WMC 2011. While a lot of what we are doing will be top secret until this December, you can expect major improvements to our website, live coverage and iPhone app. We will also be offering additional services based on the feedback you provide us.
If you attended WMC 2010, please share your feedback and suggestions on how we can improve your experience next year by leaving a comment below.
I can not wait to be partying with you under the hot Miami sun during Winter Music Conference 2011. Until then, love and respect.

have a shuttle buss run from south beach to downtown nightlife district four times per day.
have a $100 or $200 party package that includes 2 of the better parties each day.
make dubfire and sharam play as deep dish!
You Definitely 100% need shuttle buses from ultrafest to south beach or you will be waiting for the cab or the city bus for at least an hour and a half
I hope that you get an application for Blackberry!
2011!! Ahhh, can't wait!!
Are u providing a guide or organising the whole event? Seems to me like ur confusing people.
Blogs on nightlyfe.com were fantastic for helping us plan our first trip to Miami for WMC. We literally looked at them all day everyday and it paid off because we had an AMAZING time! The competition was also wicked, can't believe i won such good prizes – really made our trip extra special.
Can't wait till next year, will defo be looking on here again for advice on hottest parties/places to stay/things to do…and avoid doing!
Thank you so much nightlyfe.com and your bloggers…keep up the good work!
One thing i wish – it was srpead over 2 weeks so we could make it to every party & see every DJ play…i'm so greeeeeeeedy!! : )
We are a UNOFFICIAL guide and offer services such as purchasing tickets through our Wanttickets partnership, party packages, condo rental through our partners, live coverage of events etc. and will continue to grow our services where there is a need and demand.
We are asking for feedback to determine what people want? Whether it is to see a particular artist or buss service downtown, we are willing and able to make it happen.
Can you find and post sets from the WMC available for download? that would be awesome
As it is a music conference that is supposed to capture a snapshot of music in the world at the time, you should really push to have music that is actually cutting edge. Too much of the music and artists featured at the winter music conference were way out of touch with the music that we have in Europe.
Where was Breakbot? He's one of the most on fire producers of one of the most exciting new genres at the moment – and he didn't even feature. I understand that the likes of steve angello, axwell, carl cox, sharam, james zabiela, pete tong etc etc pull lots of people into clubs – but anyone who knows about music knows that these guys are even given the time of day in the UK or Europe anymore – and for the WMC to be regarded as a truly forward thinking event, it needs to catch up with the rest of the world.
This is by no means meant as criticism – I had the time of my life in Miami, but I did not discover anyone new and exciting which i had expected to do at a music conference.
Loved the iphone app, i deffy used it A LOT! 2 things……you only had starting time but no ending time. 2. when it was saturday i had to scroll down each day to saturday……perhaps the day should come up automatically? minor, really….good job guys! I will deffy b there next year!!
everything was awesome- my suggestion would be to have an index in the back of the guide of all the artists playing and what pages you can find them on. that way you can at least kind of get an idea of how many times artists are actually playing and have a quick way to get to each party.
other than that, just make the book more available- everywhere we went people were asking us where we got ours…
i love that idea… or contract with the city to provide additional bus service those days and offer a discounted bus pass to WMC delegates.
a $100-$200 party package :-) try buying the wmc badge early in the game. you'll enjoy yourself!!
This depends on your idea of WMC… see at Ultra for instance, I didn't discover anyone new. What I did discover was new music, even if it was from the “same ol people”. (Most of which were European)… My real discovery of new artists happened at the side parties in South Beach (The Living Room and Hearthrow Lounge to name two venues).
The conference had a lot to offer this year, more than I was able to take in! But if I had to make more suggestions (and I will LOL) I would go with your idea of stepping out of the “norm” and booking more regional DJs… In Europe and the UK this will sometimes mean International (just because of the size of the continent). In the US regional means inter-state. But I'd also like to see some more Latin American DJs (Caribbean, Central and South America). Indian and African DJs… I hear South Africa has some interesting mixes recently.
If you want suggestions on specific names, I can only give you those of my friends. A few of which, ironically, did play at Ultra this year. So trust me when I say they have an edge… it may not be CUTTING edge… but they did book:
Swanky Jones (Brandon)
Knowledge (Chris)
Vinny from da Bronx (Vinny)
Metaphysical (Vincent)
Frydae (Kyle)
and I would love to see these guys and dolls out spinning next year, maybe at a side tent?
(all of the above plus)
DJ Leila
Mentally Ill
Mizeyesis
DJ Redshift
DJ Flubula
DJ Milkdud
Crazyglue
and the list goes on…
you could call it the northeast tent! (in the regional setup)
i love the index idea… in the big book you have the yearbook style listings, that would be ideal to have page numbers for anyone actually playing out who's also listed in that. the key to managing any large volume of information is an index!
if you do a youtube search for WMC 2010 you'll get plenty of that.
Cant wait to see what's next!
