My intention this year for Winter Music Conference was to be a big, fat sponge. I wanted to watch and listen to everything in Miami until I exploded, and then hopefully some kind soul would find my scattered pieces and glue or staple them back together.

Miami! Miami! Miami! I just spent a wild week at Winter Music Conference 2010, quite possibly the world’s largest gathering ever of electronic music fans, freaks and friends in the flashy city of blingy blue ocean waves, lazy palm trees, slick star-scrapers and an energy level almost as high as the dance floor.
A week-long cavalcade of party after party after rave after boat after beach after pool after rooftop, WMC is most definitely a one-of-a-kind experience that every electronic music lover should experience at least once before you go to meet the great beatmaker in the sky.
Flying Circus out at Nikki Beach was a nice way to open Winter Music Confernece 2010. I was only able to stay for the beginning, but I heard from several people that the rest of the party was great. Check out these photos from the early afternoon. Miss Jools was inside playing more for the techno crowd, while other DJ’s were playing more sunny house out in the beach area.

The vessel as a venue. Move over Carnival, the Tikki is the real funship. The tikki boat is a two deck rustic ship, entirely decorated in tikki style. The lower deck is the more enclosed, giving it a cozy, more relaxed feel. The upper deck is were the madness begins. It is completely open air; sand and cabanas makes it feel like floating beach. To be quite honest, the top deck was so much fun I didn’t feel the need to go back down after we embarked on the musical journey.

Life got a little crazy in Miami with our good friends at KarmaloopTV during Winter Music Conference. In between the beach, the strip clubs and the dance floor we chatted with with Rusko, Busy P., Tommie Sunshine, 12th Planet, Classixx, Drop the Lime, and Donald Glaude. The day we have all been waiting for is less then 10 hours away and so begins the journey of thousands of electronic dance music fans. One fan in particular is Tillie Wood, the winner of our “WMC Party Package {Tweet to Win}” contest. Cadenza V Desolate with Luciano and Loco Dice was one of the best pool parties of Winter Music Conference 2010. It was packed, sold out and rocking. Hopefully they will throw this party again next year.
