Never been to a pool party before, but I guess thatit involves swimming if you want to, right? Maybe I'll manage to take part of a pool party this year. I do have a busy schedule, but some relaxation can't hurt.

Agreed…the sound system, especially in the main room, was crap! Terrible sound :( I also thought it was tough to get into a set that was 20-30 min long. The talet was great as usual and the setting, especially the Buddah Garden, was great…but will NOT do that party for a third year :(

I you were only there for the beginning, you miissed it… Heidi and everyone after her (audiofly, tiefschwarz, and timo mass especially) played amazing music. I heard a few of the songs they played at many events during the week, and I wish I knew where to get them!
The lighting and vjing was also intense, with guest vj/lj fr3qnast3 keeping the room lit proper.
I got a dvd from fr3qnast3, and ill tell you this guy is not only down to earth, he also has talent.
You missed a hell of a show!

i love the index idea… in the big book you have the yearbook style listings, that would be ideal to have page numbers for anyone actually playing out who's also listed in that. the key to managing any large volume of information is an index!

This depends on your idea of WMC... see at Ultra for instance, I didn't discover anyone new. What I did discover was new music, even if it was from the "same ol people". (Most of which were European)... My real discovery of new artists happened at the side parties in South Beach (The Living Room and Hearthrow Lounge to name two venues).
The conference had a lot to offer this year, more than I was able to take in! But if I had to make more suggestions (and I will LOL) I would go with your idea of stepping out of the "norm" and booking more regional DJs... In Europe and the UK this will sometimes mean International (just because of the size of the continent). In the US regional means inter-state. But I'd also like to see some more Latin American DJs (Caribbean, Central and South America). Indian and African DJs... I hear South Africa has some interesting mixes recently.
If you want suggestions on specific names, I can only give you those of my friends. A few of which, ironically, did play at Ultra this year. So trust me when I say they have an edge... it may not be CUTTING edge... but they did book:

Vinny from da Bronx (Vinny)
Metaphysical (Vincent)
Frydae (Kyle)

and I would love to see these guys and dolls out spinning next year, maybe at a side tent?
